If you run a UK practice of one to three people and mainly need a client list, a pipeline for new work and every client's HMRC and Companies House deadlines in one place, Mipp is a simpler, cheaper Senta alternative: £19 a month for one person with no contract, against £29 a month on a 12-month contract for IRIS Elements Practice Management Essentials, the plan Senta has become (UK pricing, October 2026). If you rely on automated client emails and texts, a client portal, e-signatures or a login for each person, Senta, now IRIS Elements Practice Management, is the better choice and Mipp will not replace it.

What has happened to Senta

Senta's own website says Senta by IRIS has been incorporated into IRIS Elements, as IRIS Elements Practice Management, with the same functionality for the same price, and Senta's UK pricing page now redirects to that announcement (senta.co, checked 8 October 2026). So if you use Senta today, the real choice is between moving with it to IRIS Elements and moving to something else. This page compares Mipp with IRIS Elements Practice Management Essentials, which IRIS describes as its plan for start-ups and small practices. You may see older Senta prices quoted elsewhere; the figures below are IRIS's current ones.

Senta pricing in the UK vs Mipp, for 1, 2 and 3 users

These are yearly costs from each company's own pricing page on 8 October 2026. IRIS's calculator for Practice Management Essentials shows £29 a month for one on annual billing (£36 on monthly billing), and £27 a month (£34 on monthly billing) from two upwards, with a 12-month contract either way. IRIS's overview page describes Practice Management prices per user per month, so the figures below multiply by the number of users; the calculator itself labels the number "clients", so check their site to confirm. Mipp prices are as shown in our pricing section.

Users Mipp, paid monthly Mipp, paid annually IRIS Elements PM Essentials, billed monthly IRIS Elements PM Essentials, billed annually
1£228 (Starter, £19 a month)£190 (Starter)£432£348
2£588 (Growth, £49 a month)£490 (Growth)£816£648
3£588 (Growth, £49 a month)£490 (Growth)£1,224£972

All figures per year. IRIS Elements Practice Management Essentials: £36 a month for one or £34 each from two, billed monthly; £29 a month for one or £27 each from two, billed annually; 12-month contract on both. Mipp Growth covers up to three team members in your workspace, but each Mipp account has one sign-in for now, so the team shares it. Sources: iris.co.uk IRIS Elements Practice Management and mipp.co.uk pricing, both checked 8 October 2026. IRIS's page does not say whether its prices include VAT. Even if VAT at 20% were added to Mipp's price, one person on Mipp's monthly plan (£273.60 a year) would cost less than one IRIS Essentials user billed annually (£348).

Pick Mipp if...

Pick Mipp if you are a sole practitioner or a practice of up to three people, and your real problem is keeping track of deadlines and work rather than automating client communication.

Deadline dates are a planning aid calculated from the information you enter, using standard UK rules, not tax advice. Mipp does not file anything with HMRC or Companies House, does not email your clients and does not track payments.

When Senta (IRIS Elements) is the better choice

If you want your software to email clients for you, or you work across the IRIS suite, IRIS Elements is built for that. It includes these and Mipp does not:

If you are a Senta user who relies on its automated client emails and portal, moving with it to IRIS Elements keeps that way of working. The trade-off is commitment: IRIS shows a 12-month contract on both monthly and annual billing.

Switching from Senta to Mipp

  1. Export your client list as a CSV file. Senta's features page lists client export; check IRIS's help centre for the current steps.
  2. Download Mipp's import template from Clients, Import. Mipp matches column headings automatically. Columns include Company name, Entity type, Company number, Year end (DD-MM), VAT registered (yes/no), VAT stagger, Payroll (yes/no), Payroll frequency, Self assessment (yes/no), Monthly fee, Annual fee, and a main contact's name, email and phone.
  3. Import up to 500 rows at a time. Rows with no company name, or a name already in Mipp, are skipped and listed with the reason.
  4. Check the Compliance view. Clients imported with a year end, VAT or payroll details get their deadlines scheduled straight away. Tick "MTD for Income Tax" on each client who needs quarterly updates.
  5. Keep what lives only in Senta. Import covers clients and one main contact for each. Emails, jobs, documents, portal history and signed documents stay where they are, so export anything you need to keep, and check when your contract renews, before you leave.

Mipp does not have a data export yet, so bear that in mind if you think you may move again. If you are moving more than 500 clients, or anything is unclear, email sam@mipp.co.uk and we will help.
